Hunter Jumper Training and Boarding
Offering training for Hunters, Jumpers, and Equitation riders based in the heart of San Diego, CA.
Lesson Program
.We work with riders across a wide range of ages and experience levels - from focused pre-teens just starting to find their competitive edge, to adult amateurs in their 60s still chasing new goals in the ring. What unites everyone in our program is a drive to improve and compete, and a horse of their own to do it on. To join, riders should already be comfortable jumping a full course at crossrails or higher. From there, we build skills and confidence by refining position, strengthening the horse-and-rider partnership, and developing the skills needed to be competitive in the show ring, whether that's local hunter/jumper shows, equitation finals, or bigger goals down the road.
Every lesson is grounded in a horse-centric training philosophy: horses are treated as the elite athletes they are, with training focused on suppleness, rideability, a confident mindset, and peak physical fitness. That same philosophy shapes how our riders are taught - technically sound, tactically smart, and always with the horse's wellbeing as the foundation.
Please note that we do not offer school horses; riders must own or lease their own horse to participate in our lesson program. If you're not yet paired with the right horse, our team has extensive experience finding and importing horses and can help you find one to lease or purchase, so you can join us ready to train.
Beyond the individual instruction, our program is anchored in a strong sense of barn community. Riders train alongside and support one another, creating an environment that's competitive in the ring and genuinely encouraging outside of it. EHS is a place where riders of every age feel challenged, supported, and at home.

Our full-service boarding program is based out of Newmarket Farm, centrally located in San Diego — just minutes from the 5 and 56 freeways, and only three minutes from Del Mar Showpark, with easy driving distance to major show circuits in Thermal, Temecula, and Los Angeles.

Clinics
Clinics are available locally throughout Southern California, as well as nationally and internationally across North and Central America — bringing decades of top-level training experience directly to your property.
Clinics are open to riders across hunters, jumpers, and equitation, as well as those working with young horses looking to build a strong foundation early on. Whether your group is focused on flatwork fundamentals, jumping technique, or show-ring strategy, each clinic is tailored to the goals and level of the riders in attendance.
Clinics run most effectively over two consecutive days, giving riders and horses the chance to build on what they learn from session to session rather than covering everything in a single lesson. All clinics are hosted at your facility — simply reach out to check availability and start planning.
Coming back after a long—nearly twenty-year break—from riding, Evey has matched me with horses that have patiently allowed me to improve my skills and regain my confidence. Evey really cares about the horses in his program, and this is reflected in his horses’ consistency. They are happy to do their job show after show and year after year.
