Everardo “Evey” Hegewisch
Head Trainer
Everardo "Evey" Hegewisch has spent more than 40 years riding, training, and competing at the top levels of the equestrian world. A native of Mexico, Evey represented his country at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul — the first of many milestones in a career defined by international competition and world-class training.
Over the decades, Evey has trained teams for the Pan American Games and the Olympic Trials, and continues to serve as Chef d'Equipe and trainer for the FEI North American Youth Championships (NAJYRC), helping develop the next generation of top young riders. In 2015, he competed at the World Cup in Las Vegas, and he remains an active competitor on the international Grand Prix circuit today — bringing current, top-level competition experience into every lesson he teaches.
For Evey, training has always started with the horse. His approach centers on supple, rideable horses with strong, confident minds and peak physical fitness — the same standard he holds for the Olympic and Grand Prix mounts he's ridden throughout his career. That philosophy, paired with four decades of hands-on experience, is what he brings to every rider at Everardo Hegewisch Stables, from first-time competitors to seasoned professionals.

Assistant Trainer
My passion for the equestrian world began at age 15, and I have since dedicated my career to the jumpers discipline, both teaching and competing in Mexico and in the USA. My approach is based on the Everardo Hegewisch method, a natural system that prioritizes the horse's needs while avoiding excessive pressure on both the animal and the rider. I enjoy passing on this passion by instilling respect, discipline, and love for horses in new riders, always promoting a harmonious bond and the welfare of the horse above all else.
